Best Quote

best quote (from Hawkins):

I'm not afraid of death, but I'm in no hurry to die. I have so much I want to do first.

I was organizing first new year party in my apartment.
I was looking for few party games for party.

So I searched net and collected following party games (shamelessly pasting from my unnamed.doc, if there is any copyright issues then owner let me know, I will remove his game.)

1. Paper Airplane Game

Everyone writes their

1) 1) name,

2) 2) two questions that they want to ask anyone in this hall

And makes a paper airplane. On cue, everyone throws their airplane around the room. If you find

an airplane, pick it and keep throwing it for 1-2 minutes. At the end of that time, everyone must have one

paper airplane. This is the person they must find and introduce to the group.

2. APPLE OF DISCORD.

Each pair holds an apple between their foreheads. The leader gives the commands: "Three steps to the left!", "Three steps to the right!", "Squat!", "Jump!" etc. The pairs fulfill them. If the apple drops, the pair is out.

3. ON THE MARSH.

Each player is given 2 sheets of paper. The player must cross "the marsh" stepping only on "hummocks" - the sheets of paper. At first the player steps on one of the sheets with his/her feet. Another sheet he/she places in front of him/her. Then he/she must step on this sheet and put the previous one in front of. The player who crosses the room the first is the winner.

4. LOVE STATUE.

The instructor asks some couples to participate in this game (preferably married ones). The couples are asked to leave the room. Then the instructor asks one couple to return and "to create" "The love statue". After that the instructor asks one of the gentlemen (of those who are among the couples behind the door ) to come into the room. His task is to change something in this "statue". The gentlemen changes the poses of the couple. Then the instructor suggests him to take the place of the gentleman in "statue". Then the lady (one of those behind the door ) is asked to come in. She is also asked to change something in the statue and to take the place of the girl in "the statue". This game goes on until all the couples took part in it.

5. PASS THE BALL.

Line up into 2 teams. In each line ladies and gentlemen take their turns. The first person in each team is given a ball to place under his/her chin. He/she must pass the ball to the next in line but neither may use his/her hands. The players can use all the parts of their bodies to pass the ball but it's forbidden to drop it. The first team to get the ball all the way to the last person is the winner.

6 Cinderella Race :

Each couple runs with her wife in his hand to a distance. Who ever comes first is winner.

7. PUTTING OF AN Ball.

In each pair the partners stand with their backs to each other. They have an egg between their backs (or a little bit lower). The object is to put an egg on the ground, so as not to break it. The pair which succeeds in it wins the game. Instead the egg you may a small rubber ball. In this case the object of the game is to put the ball on the ground so as it doesn't roll.

8. WITH THE HELP OF A SONG.

Ask the players to recollect and write down several lines of 6 of their favorite songs. After that give them a key to solution.
1. The first song - your feeling after the first kiss;
2. The second - your memory of the first night together;
3. The third - reminder of your honey moon;
4. The fourth - in a year after the marriage;
5. The fifth - Now when we are together I think about it.
6. The sixth - in 50 years of the life together.

Hero (2002) Movie Review

When I saw Mattoo's site (http://www.ameetmattoo.blogspot.com/) about movie reviews then I thought of starting my own. But realizing the fact that I cant be so active now, I abandoned the idea.

AW, I am here to share my views movie Hero (Mandarin, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero_(2002_film) ). It is not required to know the history of Qin dynasty (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qin_Shi_Huang) before the movie.

Before I go ahead with political agenda of the movie. This movie is marvelous piece of cinematography and beautiful picturization. Great combination of colours are used during film.

I love slow action movies like Killer(directed by John Woo) and so I liked this movie too.

Each and every scene is worth telling story in itself.

Without telling much details of story it is recommended to all those who loves unusual cinema.

I dropped my plan to share political agenda of the movie and left best to understand by the viewer.

From sometime, say from late 90s ,I am noticing a change in Indian English, it is shifting from British English to US English (Indian English, by the grace of Great Queen is still flourishing ).
I am sure its not only me but lot of others must have noticed the same, colour suddenly became color, optimisation became optimization.

Suddenly I found that actress has become actor.Not in any cheap English print media but in prestigious media as India Today .
First I thought it was printing mistake, then I realized that all actress are being referred as actor.

I am sure my grandparent must have seen language transition from Urdu to Hindi, my parents saw Hindi to English and I am watching English to English.

I am sure my son would be learning US english and for him actress would never exist, everyone would be actor(I dont think that actor is gender neutral word for film artist.)

I still do not understand what is the significance of blogging or why and what I am doing here.

It might be like my first e-mail Id. When I got my first e-mail Id, I did not know what to do with it. But I created because everyone was doing it, more than that it was cost effective to send CVs by e-mail than snail mail(saving Rs. 3/- per CV was too much saving that time and I think today also).
The best part is that I did not open my first e-mail Id, actually Mathur created it and told me about the e-mail Id and password for I did not have access to net :-O .

And I found that there are lot more people who are in the same state, what to do with that, even people who have already blogs.
It should be public or private or should be accessible by only few invites is another question.

Now after so much brainstorming and after going through one mistake I learn that blog should be public and always keep this thing in mind.
Some people cant take the truth, you say it at their face or you write it in blog. So its of no use, if you want to communicate something through your blog.
But yes I think its good medium to tell others what you are and what you think.

But be careful, writing might not be real mirror of person's personality.
So if blog is good to introduce yourself in this wide wide world. It could be also be dangerous as blogger may not be putting his own thoughts.

I think it is subject to the other person how he wants to take the blog.
As I am new to this blog, I think but still somehow blog shows your personality but their might be blogs which just want to show their personality like models ;-)

Power

This is my fourth attempt to start blog, lets see what happens this time.

AW I was here to talk about the power given to you but that can not be practised now.

It must be feeling like I am not enjoying my power. To exercise your power, you would find reasons or create new reasons.

At that time, I feel that only people who would support you would be the one who also has similar power. For others, it would be non-sense.

Sometimes I feel monarchy is the only way to rule ;-)
